Born in France and raised surrounded by the lavender fields of Provence, Martine convinced her husband Edgar to conduct weather studies and soil tests that proved Washington Island’s climate could support their ambitious vision.
The result is a slice of French countryside transplanted to Door County, where visitors can escape into lavender-scented tranquility just a short ferry ride from the mainland.
