The center houses an impressive collection spanning from World War II warbirds to commercial aviation classics, all within an 11,677 square foot facility that feels both intimate and grand.

The Star Attraction – North Central DC-3: Step aboard “The City of Clintonville,” a beautifully preserved 1941 Douglas DC-3 that once carried passengers across the Great Lakes region for North Central Airlines.
This aircraft flew faithfully from 1953 to 1968, and after a dramatic cross-country journey from California in 2019, it now serves as the centerpiece of the museum’s North Central Airlines Commemorative Exhibit. You’ll discover how this humble airline grew from just two aircraft in Clintonville to a major national carrier with 56 planes serving 100 destinations.
T-33 Shooting Star Experience: The museum’s Korean War-era T-33 jet greets you at the entrance in a dramatic display position. You can actually climb into this meticulously restored aircraft for your own “Top Gun” photo opportunity, making it one of the few places where you can sit in an authentic military jet trainer.
The Secret War Exhibit: Perhaps the most compelling display features a North American T-28 Trojan that tells the remarkable story of Hmong pilots during the Vietnam War. This aircraft was used by CIA Raven pilots to train Hmong fighter-bomber pilots in Laos, representing a little-known chapter of aviation history that the center preserves with dignity and detail.
Wisconsin Aviation Pioneers: You’ll learn about the state’s aviation trailblazers, including the Kohler family governors who were among the first politicians to campaign by air. The Governor Kohler Conference Room pays tribute to Walter J. Kohler Sr. and Jr., both governors who embraced aviation in their public and private lives.
