Railway enthusiasts and food lovers converge at this remarkable café housed within Elkhart Lake’s original railroad depot, where every meal comes with a generous serving of local history.
Off The Rail opened in February 2011 in the space originally occupied by Thyme Savors in the Feedmill Market, transforming what was once a bustling transportation hub into a beloved culinary destination.
Owners Daniel and Kelley Sadiq, as residents of Elkhart Lake since 2006, saw potential for a casual meeting place that would honor the building’s rich heritage while serving exceptional food.
The journey to Off The Rail began when Daniel left his corporate market research career to pursue his and Kelley’s shared dream of creating a warm, welcoming gathering space.
Their vision has clearly resonated with both locals and visitors, as evidenced by the café’s consistent ranking as the top restaurant in Elkhart Lake and its impressive collection of glowing reviews.
