What started as Al Johnson’s simple dream of bringing authentic Swedish cuisine to Wisconsin has evolved into a full-scale Scandinavian experience.

The restaurant sits in an authentic log building imported piece-by-piece from Norway in 1973, complete with a traditional sod roof that serves as a summer pasture for the famous goats. The tradition began when a friend gifted Al a goat named Oscar for his birthday, and the rest is Wisconsin tourism history.
