Wisconsin farm families have treasured childhood memories for decades – feeding chickens at dawn, petting gentle goats, and exploring vast cornfields that stretch beyond the horizon.
Green Meadows Petting Farm captures this quintessential farm experience and transforms it into an unforgettable adventure where city kids and country families alike can create lasting memories.
Family-owned since 1964, this beloved 80-acre working farm began when Bob and Coni Keyes realized most “pick-your-own” farms excluded children and decided to create a place where families could truly “bring the whole family.”
Best Farm Experiences
The Famous Kitten Barn: This is consistently the most popular attraction, with visitors often heading straight there when the farm opens to avoid long lines. You can hold farm kittens once they reach about two and a half months old, creating the perfect socialization experience for both children and adorable kittens waiting for adoption. The Kitten Barn is always a favorite, offering those precious snuggle moments that make entire weeks better.
Hands-On Animal Encounters: Green Meadows features an extensive range of animals including horses, chickens, ducks, turkeys, pigs, goats, donkeys, llamas, bunnies, tortoises, a Scottish Highland, and a Texas Longhorn. You can literally touch every animal and hold most including chickens, kittens, bunnies, and ducks – creating those magical moments where kids get nose-to-nose with gentle farm friends.

Thrilling Hayrides & Wagon Adventures: A tractor rumbles along the rolling hills of Green Meadows’ back 40 as it pulls hayride passengers toward the farm’s animal barns and pens. The tractor and trailer ride around the perimeter of the farm is so popular that many families go twice. These scenic tours offer beautiful countryside views while building anticipation for animal encounters.
Pony Rides for Little Ones: Pony rides are available daily, though you’ll need to arrive before 2 PM when those activities end. Pony rides are included for children 8 and under, making this an extra-special treat for younger visitors.
The Spectacular Goat Run: Every day ends with a goat run when they let the goats out of their pen in the middle of the farm to run back to their nighttime area, and little farm guests are welcome to run with them. This happens at 3:30 p.m. daily and creates an exciting finale to any farm visit.
