The Main Attraction & Wild West Experience

The Historic Train Ride: The train ride was everyone’s favorite, even the parents. You’ll follow a 3-mile loop that crosses a trestle, circles a mountain, and encounters some excitement along the way with authentic Wild West entertainment. For the best view of the action-packed shows, sit in a middle car on the right side of the train. The 20-minute journey features live cowboys and bandits who board the train for thrilling shootouts and comedic skits that blend family-friendly humor with PG-rated adult jokes.

Live Entertainment Shows: Tweetsie Railroad has a variety of live entertainment shows including the Tweetsie Palace Saloon and Diamond Lil’s Can-Can Revue. You’ll find the Hopper and Porter’s show geared toward younger kids, especially those 4 and under. The Palace Magic show provides air-conditioned relief on hot days while entertaining the whole family with classic magic acts.

The Chairlift Experience: Kids really loved riding the chair lift to the upper section of the park. Animal feed costs just 50 cents and comes in an ice cream cone that the goats can eat, and it’s definitely worth getting a cone for each kid. Go early in the day to the petting zoo so the animals are hungry!

Gold Panning & Gem Mining: You can get an even more authentic Wild West experience with activities like panning for gold and gem mining. You could even strike rich and find some beautiful gem stones, though gem mining requires a separate fee from general admission. These hands-on activities let you experience what prospectors felt like during the gold rush era.

Miner’s Mountain Playground: The Miner’s Mountain playground offers space for kids to run, jump and climb. There’s also a smaller train ride up there that goes into a tunnel with a very weird Small World-style glow-in-the-dark mouse display – it’s wildly weird but kids love it.
