Picture driving through a winding country road at dusk, passing fields and forests for over a mile before cresting a hill to discover an illuminated estate that once belonged to the King of Morocco.
This is how your journey begins at Ninety Acres, a destination restaurant housed in a beautifully restored carriage house on the historic Natirar Estate.
Opening in late 2009, the restaurant has transformed what was once royal grounds into a culinary sanctuary where contemporary American cuisine meets genuine farm-to-table philosophy.
What sets this spot apart is its authentic connection to the land.
While many restaurants claim farm-to-table credentials, Ninety Acres literally overlooks its own working farm. You can see the fields and livestock enclosures from the dining room windows, and much of what arrives on your plate was grown or raised just steps away on the ten-acre farm.

Practical Considerations
Pricing: This is definitely a splurge destination with entrees typically ranging from the high twenties to mid-forties. Prix fixe menus run around $145 per person for special occasions like Thanksgiving or New Year’s Eve.
While expensive, the quality of ingredients, skilled preparation, and overall experience make it worthwhile for milestone celebrations and special nights out.
Dress Code: Upscale casual is the standard here. Think nice slacks, collared shirts, blouses, and casual dresses. Jackets are recommended for gentlemen but not required. The restaurant asks that you leave athletic wear, flip-flops, tank tops, and ripped denim at home. Dark-washed, well-kept denim is acceptable.
Valet Parking: The restaurant charges $20 for valet parking. While this adds to your bill, the valet service eliminates any parking concerns on the sprawling estate property and contributes to the upscale experience. The valets are attentive and helpful.
Reservations: Book well in advance, especially for weekend evenings and holidays. The restaurant fills up quickly, often weeks ahead. OpenTable accepts reservations for parties up to eight guests, while larger groups should call directly at (908) 901-4703.
Best Times to Visit: Weeknights tend to be calmer if you prefer a quieter experience. Weekend evenings bring livelier energy, particularly in the bar area. Arriving before sunset in warmer months lets you appreciate the grounds in daylight. Each season brings menu changes that showcase what’s currently thriving on the farm.
Special Experiences: Beyond the restaurant, Ninety Acres houses a cooking school offering classes and culinary camps. These hands-on experiences let you work with the farm’s ingredients and learn techniques from the culinary team. Private event spaces are also available for weddings and celebrations.
Dietary Accommodations: The kitchen handles dietary restrictions thoughtfully, offering vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. When making reservations, mention any specific needs so the team can prepare accordingly.
