Located just four miles north of Luverne in Minnesota’s southwest corner, this 1,567-acre park protects one of the state’s largest remaining prairie remnants and serves as home to a conservation herd of American bison.
The park’s signature cliffs, formed from nearly two-billion-year-old Sioux quartzite, earned their name from early settlers who saw them appear blue on the distant horizon, though up close they reveal a stunning reddish-pink hue that glows magnificently at sunrise and sunset.
