California redwood logs abandoned at a Minnesota warehouse found their destiny as one of the most spectacular dining experiences in the Brainerd Lakes area.
Sherwood North occupies the historic Sherwood Forest Lodge, which originated in the 1920s when redwood logs bound for Duluth harbor were abandoned at a lakes area depot and repurposed to construct this magnificent lodge.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this updated redwood lodge features a towering 70-foot river stone fireplace as its centerpiece.
Under new ownership by Paul Fitzpatrick and Angie Broadhead, experienced restaurateurs who reopened the lodge as Sherwood North, this rustic retreat channels the golden age of Upper Midwest supper clubs while delivering contemporary culinary excellence.
Nestled between Gull Lake and Lake Margaret in Lake Shore, the restaurant combines nearly a century of history with modern dining sophistication.
