Picture yourself transported to a European tea shop without leaving Michigan—that’s exactly what awaits at TeaHaus in Ann Arbor’s charming Kerrytown District.
This beloved local institution was born from owner Lisa McDonald’s 14-year European adventure, where she fell in love with the high-quality loose tea culture found in every village. When she returned to the U.S. and couldn’t find that same tea quality, she decided to create her own slice of European tea heaven right here in Michigan.
What started as a passionate quest to recreate the authentic European tea experience has blossomed into a dual-concept space that’s both a specialized tea retailer and a cozy tearoom. You’ll discover over 200 premium loose-leaf teas sourced from German tea companies known for having the world’s strictest quality standards, alongside house-made pastries and an innovative menu featuring tea cocktails and tea-infused craft beer.
Tea Selection & Specialty Drinks
The Tea Wall: Your eyes will immediately gravitate toward the impressive wall lined with massive tea tins containing over 200 varieties of loose-leaf tea. You’ll find everything from classic black and green teas to exotic oolongs, delicate whites, vibrant herbals, and seasonal specialties. Each tea is sold loose so you can see and smell it before purchasing, making the selection process an aromatic adventure in itself.
House Blends & Exclusives: TeaHaus creates their own signature blends that you won’t find anywhere else. Their Haus Blends represent carefully crafted combinations that showcase Lisa’s tea sommelier expertise. You can also sample different teas daily—they always have selections available for tasting to help guide your decision.
