This modest Detroit home, known worldwide as Hitsville U.S.A., is where Berry Gordy transformed the music industry forever and where legends like The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, and the Jackson 5 created the soundtrack to America’s soul.
Founded by Berry Gordy in 1959, this small residence became the original headquarters and recording studio for Motown Records until 1972.
Today, the Motown Museum preserves this magical space exactly as it was during those golden years, offering you the rare chance to walk through actual recording history and stand in the very spots where countless chart-toppers were born.
