Forget everything you think you know about typical brewery visits.

Marz Community Brewing transforms an industrial warehouse into something that feels like stepping into an alternate universe where craft beer, local art, vintage arcade games, and community spirit collide in the most delightful way possible.

This isn’t just another place to grab a pint – it’s a cultural hub that perfectly captures Chicago’s creative soul while serving up some of the city’s most innovative brews.

Founded in 2013 by a collective of artists, homebrewers, and dreamers who first hatched their plans at Maria’s Packaged Goods & Community Bar in Bridgeport, Marz began as more than just a brewing venture.

After starting in a tiny 3-barrel nano-production facility on Halsted Street, they moved to their current 51,000 square foot warehouse “mothership” in McKinley Park’s Central Manufacturing District in 2018.

Other Considerations

Pricing Philosophy: Expect to pay premium prices reflecting the artisanal quality – most beers start around $7, positioning Marz in the higher-end craft beer market.

However, the quality, creativity, and overall experience justify the investment for most visitors who appreciate exceptional craft beverages.

Family-Friendly Environment: Despite being primarily a brewery, Marz welcomes families and maintains a surprisingly kid-friendly atmosphere, especially during earlier hours and weekends when the space feels more like a community center than a typical bar.

Transportation Access: Located in an industrial area that’s not easily accessible by public transit, most visitors arrive by car, rideshare, or bike.

Street parking is generally available, and the location makes it feel like discovering a hidden gem off the beaten path.

Event Programming: Regular programming includes Music Bingo on Mondays, trivia on Wednesdays, and special Cantina Nights on Tuesdays featuring Lotería games and micheladas.

These events transform the space into an even more vibrant community gathering spot.

Beer To-Go Options: You can purchase cans and bottles to take home, along with an impressive selection of merchandise featuring the same artist-designed labels that make their packaging so distinctive. This allows you to extend the Marz experience beyond your visit.
