Its 14,000-square-foot LED installation on the south facade has become one of Tampa’s most iconic landmarks, transforming the building itself into a work of art. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or simply curious about culture, this 66,000-square-foot space offers an intimate yet comprehensive journey through artistic expression spanning millennia.
Exceptional Collections & Exhibitions
Ancient World Treasures: The museum proudly houses an extensive collection of Greek and Roman antiquities, one of the largest in the southeastern United States. You’ll discover classical Greek and Roman sculptures and pottery, with a strong focus on Greek painted pottery from around 600 BC to 300 BC.
The recently opened “The Etruscans: A Mysterious Italian People” exhibition showcases about 70 donated objects from this enigmatic ancient civilization, offering glimpses into daily life through drinking vessels, dining plates, and decorative art.

Riverwalk Location: Located along the Tampa Riverwalk, on the banks of the Hillsborough River, next to Curtis Hixon Park. Located conveniently near Curtis Hixon Park and Riverwalk, this is another hotspot in downtown Tampa. The museum’s position offers beautiful views of both the city skyline and the University of Tampa’s distinctive minarets.
Outdoor Sculpture Terrace: Step outside for a walk through the large sculpture terrace that features traveling exhibits, offering good views of the Hillsborough River. The scenic covered terrace can accommodate up to 400 guests with views of both the iconic city skyline and the University of Tampa’s minarets.
Visitor Experience & Practical Information
Admission Pricing: Adults $25; Seniors, Florida Educators, Military and Professional Artists $15; Students (7+) $5; Children ages 6 and under and College Students are free. Every Thursday from 4 to 8 pm, the museum offers “Art on the House” where admission prices change to pay-as-you-will, and visitors choose whatever admission price they want to pay. Bank of America cardholders receive one free general admission for the first weekend of every month.
