Try The Infamous Frog Legs At This Historic Fellsmere Restaurant

Published: September 14, 2025

What happens when a 1926 land sales office transforms into Florida’s most authentic time capsule dining experience?

You discover a place where swamp cabbage soup meets hand-cut steaks, where taxidermy watches over your meal, and where every bite connects you to nearly a century of Florida heritage.

Marsh Landing Restaurant has been serving up this unique combination since 2002, when mother-daughter duo Fran and Susan Adams rescued the historic Fellsmere Estates Building from decay and transformed it into a celebration of Old Florida cuisine.

The building itself tells an incredible story – originally constructed as headquarters for the Fellsmere Estates Corporation, it later housed the Florida Crystal Sugar Company through the 1960s before becoming city offices and even a temporary jail.

Today, you can still see the original pay window where sugar company employees once collected their paychecks, while dining surrounded by historical photographs and artifacts that make this feel as much like a museum as a restaurant.
