What started as a simple question about paying for college tuition has evolved into one of Florida’s most beloved craft beer destinations. 3 Daughters Brewing began when owners Mike and Leigh Harting, along with head brewer Ty Weaver, were experimenting with craft beer-battered fish at their restaurant, leading Leigh to ask the pivotal question: “How many beers do we have to sell to put our three daughters through college?”

Since opening in December 2013, this St. Petersburg brewery has grown into one of the largest independent breweries in Florida, serving over 250,000 visitors annually in their massive 18,000-square-foot warehouse space. Located in St. Pete’s vibrant warehouse district, this isn’t your typical brewery experience. You’ll discover a sprawling entertainment complex where craft beer meets family fun, complete with live music, interactive games, and seasonal attractions that keep locals and tourists coming back for more.

Signature Brews & Rotating Taps

Beach Blonde Ale: The brewery’s flagship beer is a perfectly balanced blonde ale with 5% ABV that’s light and refreshing with just enough hops to balance the malty sweetness and add a hint of citrus. With St. Petersburg’s average high temperature of 82 degrees, it’s crafted specifically for Florida’s sunny climate and available year-round.

Florida Orange IPA: This crowd-favorite American IPA features juicy Florida oranges swimming with citrusy, aromatic hops at 6.9% ABV, creating a crisp hoppiness that cascades into a juicy-sweet finish. Introduced in 2020, this citrus-forward IPA has quickly become a top seller and puts the Sunshine State front and center in every sip.

Rotating Specialty Taps: The tasting room offers over 40 rotating taps featuring innovative craft beers, hard ciders, hard seltzers, and wines. With 105 different recipes in their beer history, you’ll find everything from hazy IPAs and barrel-aged porters to seasonal specialties like fig hard cider and chai cider.

Popular options include the Coffee Blonde Ale with rich coffee flavor, the Floating Dock Light IPA with only 118 calories, and the Stern Line Oatmeal Stout with dark-roasted coffee and semi-sweet chocolate notes.

Award-Winning Ciders: The brewery boasts one of the most popular cider lines in Florida, featuring Key Lime and Raspberry Lemonade flavors that have become cult favorites. You’ll also find unique options like Orange Blossom Cider and seasonal fruit combinations.

Games & Entertainment Galore

Interactive Game Zone: The massive warehouse space features an incredible array of games including life-sized Jenga, giant Connect 4, cornhole, darts, ping-pong, foosball, tabletop shuffleboard, pinball machines, and arcade games. You’ll even find a large Scrabble setup on the wall, creating a game lover’s paradise.

Live Music & Events: Live music performances happen every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night on the brewery’s dedicated stage. The venue hosts regular events including award-winning Monday Night Trivia, musical bingo, yoga classes, DIY workshops, and food truck rallies.

Seasonal Christmas Village: During the holiday season, the brewery transforms into a winter wonderland with Bruce Harting’s incredible Christmas village display featuring over 350 homes, 90+ animations, 400+ people, and 5+ trains. This 44-year collection by the 82-year-old grandfather of the brewery owners takes about a month to set up and covers two full walls of the warehouse.

Atmosphere & Space Design

Warehouse Vibes: The 18,000-square-foot industrial warehouse creates a unique atmosphere that’s part brewery, part entertainment complex, with high ceilings and an open layout that feels spacious even when busy. You’ll find both indoor air-conditioned areas and covered outdoor seating with ceiling-based heaters for year-round comfort.

Family-Friendly Layout: The brewery is designed to be family-friendly with different seating areas that cater to various preferences – from quiet indoor spaces with board games to outdoor areas with games for kids. There’s only one TV for “must watch” Florida games, encouraging people to put their phones down and interact with each other.

Multiple Bar Areas: The space features three separate bars – indoor, outdoor, and a main bar area – allowing you to choose your preferred atmosphere whether you want AC, fresh air, or to be close to the action.

Other Considerations

Pricing & Value: Reviews consistently praise the “phenomenal prices” for both food and drinks, making it an affordable option for groups and families. Flight tastings are available for around $11.50, allowing you to sample multiple beers, though some visitors prefer to stick with pints for better value.

Food Options: The brewery features 3D Bites, their own food operation with a menu that includes shareable items like pretzels and nachos, bowls and salads, tacos, pressed sandwiches, and burgers. The soft-baked pretzel with cider mustard is a popular choice, and the burgers receive particularly high praise from visitors.
