When visionary developer Tony Goldman spotted a cluster of forgotten warehouses in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood back in 2009, he didn’t see urban decay – he saw the world’s largest outdoor canvas waiting to happen.
What emerged from his dream has become a phenomenon that transformed abandoned walls into one of the most celebrated street art destinations on the planet. Today, Wynwood Walls stands as the world’s largest outdoor street art museum, often called “the Olympics of Street Art”.
You’ll discover over 35 hand-sprayed murals spread across 80,000 square feet of warehouse walls, featuring works by some of the most renowned street artists from around the globe.
The roster reads like a who’s who of contemporary street art: Shepard Fairey, Os Gemeos, Keith Haring, Swoon, and Futura, with new artists constantly being invited to refresh this dynamic outdoor gallery. The museum showcases rotating collections from more than 120 artists representing over 25 countries, ensuring every visit offers something new to explore.
Stunning Murals & Masterpieces
Shepard Fairey’s Iconic Wall: Since opening day in 2009, Shepard Fairey (creator of the famous Obama “Hope” poster) has held the same prominent wall space, currently featuring his 2022 tribute to Tony Goldman with portraits of Nelson Mandela, Frida Kahlo, and Keith Haring. The mural showcases Fairey’s signature multimedia approach with clean, bold imagery that commands attention from across the courtyard.

Keep Exploring →Os Gemeos Brazilian Magic: The twin brother duo from São Paulo brings their distinctive yellow-skinned characters and dreamlike imagery that transforms warehouse walls into surreal landscapes. Their work represents some of the most photographed pieces in the entire complex, with intricate details that reveal new elements each time you look.
Ever-Changing Gallery Spaces: Beyond the outdoor murals, you’ll find two world-class indoor galleries featuring canvas works, sculptures, and rotating exhibitions from the same acclaimed artists. The Peter Tunney Experience gallery offers an immersive multimedia environment, while the GGA Gallery showcases cutting-edge contemporary pieces.
Interactive Technology: Many murals feature augmented reality components that bring the art to life through your smartphone, adding an extra layer of engagement to the viewing experience. You can interact with the official Wynwood Walls Museum App to learn about each piece and artist.
Hands-On Art Making: Your admission includes a 3-minute spray painting experience where you can try your hand at creating street art under guidance from local artists. These sessions teach real can control techniques and the differences between tags, throw-ups, and wildstyle graffiti.
Vibrant Atmosphere & Design
Open-Air Museum Setting: The six separate warehouse buildings create intimate courtyards where you can wander through 80,000 square feet of outdoor gallery space. The industrial warehouse architecture provides the perfect backdrop for the vibrant murals, creating dramatic contrasts between raw concrete and explosive color.

Discover MoreInstagram-Worthy Backdrops: Every corner offers photogenic opportunities, though you’ll want to arrive early in the day or on weekdays to avoid crowds when hunting for that perfect shot. The wide-angle murals require some distance for full appreciation, making the spacious layout ideal for photography.
Constantly Evolving Canvas: The walls change regularly – what you see today may be completely different in a year or two, as new artists paint over previous works. Every year during Art Basel Miami Beach in December, several walls get refreshed with new murals, keeping the museum dynamic and ensuring return visitors always discover something new.
Sculptural Elements: Beyond murals, you’ll encounter impressive sculptures like Hebru Brantley’s 18-foot tall aviator-goggled figure that pays homage to the Tuskegee Airmen, adding three-dimensional artistry to the experience.
Other Considerations
Reasonable Pricing: Adult tickets start at $12, with children under 12 entering free. The admission fees contribute directly to museum maintenance, artist support, and the Wynwood Walls Foundation, making it one of Miami’s most affordable museum experiences compared to other cultural attractions.
Tour Options: Guided tours are highly recommended and cost slightly more than general admission – they’re incredibly informative and help you understand the street art culture and stories behind each piece. Official tours last approximately 40 minutes and visit each featured mural plus the three galleries.

Perfect Neighborhood Base: The surrounding Wynwood neighborhood offers excellent restaurants, trendy cafes, craft breweries, and additional galleries, making it easy to spend an entire day in the area. The best strategy is to visit Wynwood Walls during the day to see the colorful artwork clearly, then return at night for the neighborhood’s popular nightlife scene.
Free Street Art Bonus: Outside the gated walls, the entire Wynwood neighborhood is covered with free street art of varying quality, so you can continue exploring the artistic landscape beyond the official museum boundaries.
