Welcome to The Dalí Museum, where Salvador Dalí’s fantastical imagination has found its perfect home on St. Petersburg’s shimmering waterfront.
This isn’t just any art museum—it’s a portal into the most creative mind of the 20th century, housed in a building that’s as surreal as the masterpieces inside.
The museum opened in 1982 and moved into its stunning new building in 2011. With the exception of the Dalí Theater-Museum created by Dalí himself in his hometown of Figueres in Spain, the St. Petersburg Dalí Museum has the world’s largest collections of Dalí’s works. You’ll discover over 2,400 works spanning every medium and moment of Dalí’s prolific career, from his early landscapes to his iconic melting timepieces.
Masterpieces That Will Blow Your Mind
The Hallucinogenic Toreador: This is one of the massive, 13-foot paintings that dominate the museum’s walls. It begins as a vision of a bull and the Venus de Milo, but step back and the impression progressively changes. You’ll find yourself discovering new details and hidden images each time you view it—a true testament to Dalí’s genius for optical illusions.

Mathematical Garden: In the Mathematical Garden, students can explore the connection between nature and math. This interactive space showcases Dalí’s fascination with mathematics and geometry in nature.

Pricing: Prices range from $12 for children over 6 to $32 for adults. Children under six years old get in for free. We enjoyed half price Thursday 5pm to 8pm. Thursday evening offers excellent value for your visit, and the museum provides exceptional quality for the price point.
Parking: Convenient on-site parking is available for $10 on a first-come, first-served basis as space is available. Parking is free for members as available. There are also various surface lots, street parking and city parking garages, plus the St. Petersburg Downtown Looper Trolley and Cross Bay Ferry for alternative transportation.
Technology Tips: Now you use your smartphone – so remember to bring ear buds for the audio experiences. Download The Dalí Museum’s app before you go: It offers an augmented reality feature to many of the masterworks. The museum is a pioneer in integrating technology with traditional art viewing.
Special Experiences: Dalí Alive 360° is an immersive experience that celebrates the life of Salvador Dalí, one of the most influential and inventive artists of the modern era. This multisensory art experience envelops visitors in light and sound within the new Dalí Dome, a 360-degree environment. Entrance to “dalí alive 360º” costs an additional $15.
