When Tucson’s urban sprawl threatened to engulf artist Ted DeGrazia’s first studio in the 1950s, he responded by hand-building one of the world’s most unique art galleries in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains.
What started as a simple construction project evolved into a 10-acre National Historic District where every adobe brick was made on-site and every building reflects the untamed spirit of the Sonoran Desert that inspired DeGrazia’s legendary Southwestern art.

15,000 DeGrazia Originals: The gallery houses an astounding collection of original works including oil paintings, watercolors, sketches, serigraphs, lithographs, sculptures, ceramics, and jewelry that capture the vibrant cultures of the Southwest.
Six Permanent Collections: These carefully curated displays trace historical events and native cultures of the Southwest, showcasing DeGrazia’s unique ability to blend Cowboy, Native American, and Mexican influences into beautiful folk art.
